About me
My Story
My name is Ellen Handel and I live in Fayetteville, Georgia. I earned a bachelor's degree in education and psychology and went on to earn a master's degree in education with an emphasis on curriculum development. My master's thesis was written about the benefits of cooperative strategies in an educational setting. These strategies embody my philosophy in working with students and families- it takes a village of educators, parents, coaches, and clergy working together to make sure our students reach their full potential. I have served as a mentor teacher, a tutor, and have sat on various advisory boards. I have conducted seminars and workshops on a variety of educational topics ranging from writing to assessment. I stay current with admission trends by taking classes, attending workshops, collaborating with other consultants, actively participating in professional organizations, and visiting campuses around the country. College Confidence Consulting was borne of my passion for working with students to help them achieve their goals. I believe the college admissions process need not be the anxiety-provoking experience it has become for so many families. With advanced planning and informed decision making, families and students will have the tools to make decisions that are right for them.
